Shoes are the ideal gift for any woman. How many women can really resist the lure of sexy shoes, sitting neatly on the rack, waiting to be picked up? If anything at all Sex and the City did teach the men of the world how indispensable shoes are to a woman’s life. It’s no wonder that most men think it as a stroke of pure genius when they set out to buy shoes for their wives or girlfriends.
Little do you realize that there is a method for buying shoes. There is a reason why women spend hours and hours in a shoe store. If you really want to gift shoes to the woman in your life, you have to know upfront that you can’t just gift any shoe. You need to be careful about your choice of shoes. Picking the wrong pair will turn your gift into a classic example of ‘the best plans gone wrong’.
Here are some pointers which can prevent you from going fatally wrong on your shoe shopping spree:
Know the personality
Believe it or not but a woman’s personality has a lot to do with the kind of shoes she likes and she wears. A practical minded woman might not favor heels and stilettos as much as wedges and pumps, while a more glamorous personality might like her four inch heels to be nicely studded with semi precious stones. When you walk into a shoe store or browse online for shoes, keep the end recepient in mind.
Know the feet
If you do not know the shoe size of a woman, do not buy her shoes. It is quite rare to find the right shoe size, especially if you’re just guessing. If you pick the wrong shoe size there is no way your shoes are going to be viewed as an ideal gift. Talk to the sales person in the shoe store. Tell him or her how your girlfriend’s or wife’s feet are. Don’t be shy about it. You don’t have to tell anybody how you feel about their feet, just their physical appearance. Is her foot broad or slender? Are her toes apart or together? How defined is the curve of her sole? The salesperson might ask you a few other questions with an intention to direct you towards the right kind of shoes meant to fit the feet you described.
Keep an eye out
Notice the small things about your woman. Does she linger at a particular shoe store longer than the others? Has she tried on a particular shoe and then put it back after looking at the price tag? Have you caught her snooping at a particular shoe in a window? There is nothing more wonderful than a man who takes notice of such things and then manages to gift wrap the shoe as an ideal surprise. There are also other pointers which might nudge you in the right direction. For example when you are in a crowded place, your woman might point out and say, “I love those shoes!” You know then that you have to buy a similar pair.
If you find any of the above too much to do and you still want to gift her shoes, just buy her a gift card from her favorite shoe store! She will love that gift as much as she would have loved a new pair of shoes!

Now winter is fully upon us and we are feeling the chill we decided to revisit an earlier post. Signature jumpers are IN this Autumn / Winter 2012 and their are some fabulous choices to be had in the main high street stores and online. In this post we will be pointing out some of our personal favourites from Apricot, Boohoo.com…
Colour Block JumpersColour blocking is still in and we found this lovely Stone Colour Block Jumper for £33.00 from Apricot (the jumper is also available in Burgundy).
If you would like something a little lighter and fluffier then you should check Miss Selfridge and, in particular, this lovely Eyelash Colour Block Jumper for £37.00
Oversize JumpersEveryone needs a beautiful snuggly oversize jumper in their wardrobe and this one from Apricot certainly fits the bill – Oversized ribbed and cable knit detail thick knitted jumper with slight dip hem, open hem at bottom and chunky roll neck. This oversized jumper is also available in Rust. I also like this Katherine Studded Shoulder Oversized Jumper from Boohoo available in both black and purple.
Aztec Print JumpersPersonally I am not a fan of any jumper which could induce neighbourhood sizes at me but some of these Aztec print are really very nice. I found this Charlotte Aztec Jumper for £22.00 at Boohoo which I quite like.
This Lizbeth Super Soft Aztec Jumper In Cream from missguided is a super soft fluffy jumper which will keep you warm and looking stylish this winter with all over aztec print.
The Jumper DressI love Jumper Dresses. I always have a couple in my wardrobe simply because they are so versatile and, given the right fit, very sexy too! I have a black jumper dress which clings in all the right places and I never fail to draw complements whenever I wear it. I found this lovely bodycon stone illusion jumper dress online which really caught my eye (pictured right)
One store I can always rely on to find something a little different is Joe Browns – they have a superb selection and this year is no different. I found this lovely Versatile Knit in red and plum
Crochet JumperTwo jumpers I simply had to feature because it was, quite literally love at first sight, were these delightful katsumi crochet sweaters from Dorothy Perkins – a beautiful Black crochet jumper for £36.00 and a Black crochet batwing Jumper for £26.00
From luxurious artifacts, designer clothes and irreplaceable technological gadgets, to absolutely everything else which rules our lives these days; we have brought the world to a standstill. As we delve deeper and deeper into our money laden pockets, our lifestyles start to reflect our personalities, tastes and interests in a variety of ways.
Here’s a quick look on some things people can really splurge on, especially in case you have the necessary dough to make life all the more worth living.
Luxury cufflinks appeal to the dapper men. The dazzling glow of the diamond studded cufflinks, adorning the wrist of the debonair man can never go unnoticed. As the sparkle of each cut stone makes your heart miss a beat, the cut of the 18-22 K diamond options will always make you want to embellish the decorative button replacements on your shirt’s sleeves.
Nothing makes a man’s raw charm more appealing than the fragrance of his perfume and aftershave. Not only does a sprinkle of such spirit based products add a special flavor to a man’s masculinity, but it also reeks of class in its every whiff. Choose wisely and see women fall over you, as they try to abstain from your irresistible charm.
A pen maketh a man. The statement may have been twisted a bit, but it definitely gives an idea worth dwelling on. The art of fine writing is best displayed by a pen of fine quality, grandeur and style. Not only will a pen of fine craftsmanship and compete luxury look good with your clothing style, but it will also bring out the
persona of a man who knows his words well.
If apparel does not do the trick, nothing else will. These days, established luxury brands continue to throng the markets, trying to make a mark on the minds of the extra fashion conscious consumers. As style takes a one up on your fashion statement, you need to dress for the classes and not the masses. So invest wisely and bring out the niche side of your personality, as you walk down the fashion aisle.
Shoes have carved a special niche in a man’s wardrobe, given the kind of eloquent styles and colors they bestow upon the wearer. As the various brands fight to capture the attention of the metro sexual man, it’s definitely become more of a fashion statement to be able to don the right clothes coupled with the uber cool shoes. Choose wisely and let yourself be the center of attention as you draw the stares of other envious men and of course, drooling women.
With such options forming just the tip of the iceberg, there are various options in the market by which you can show off your financial indulgences. As you travel in some really posh mean machines, wearing Louis Vuitton shoes and donning an Armani suit, there is nothing in the whole wide world which can set you apart from making some eyeballs do quick somersaults.

In the present economic climate event we hardened fashionistas have to occasionally watch the pennies which is why I was so interested in CouponShack of late. I´m not a great one for coupons to be perfectly honest with you but they have a superb range of discounts available across a broad range of items which do interest me – but, if you are on this blog, chances are your main focus will be pretty much the same as mine – clothing and beauty..
They have a huge range of “coupons” for fashion and beauty items (amongst a whole range of others) and you are guaranteed to find discounts in an area of your interest – including plus size clothing (which can be notoriously expensive even in our present age of enlightenment). The site is exceptionally easy to navigate, allowing you to find coupons / promo codes by category, store or brand name. Its certainly worth keeping an eye on this website as they update their offers monthly – in terms of womens clothing it is always worth checking their site at the end of season when clothing retailers traditionally sell their going out of season stock at up to 75% discount. They have some great tips for us frugal fashionistas and offer a good range of promo codes. At the time of writing, for example, they have discount codes for Isabella Oliver, Jessica Simpson Collection, Macy’s and Seventh Avenue.
Today leading chain Marks and Spencers introduced “Shwopping” – its big recycling scheme aiming to bring the number of clothes going to landfill down. In the UK alone 9,513 garments are discarded every five minutes and some of these items could continue to be useful clothing to someone else or be recycled. In this scheme M&S Customers are encouraged to swap any old or unwanted items when they come into store. The clothes will then be recycled or resold by Oxfam, with the aim of reducing the 1 billion items being dumped into UK landfills each year.
Certainly seems a worthwhile cause. In a bid to hammer the message home M&S have filled Brick Lane in London with a clear (and soggy) reason as to why this scheme is so very important. Presumably the clothes used in this publicity stunt will not be going to landfill afterwards…
It is however a good message. Dont waste your old clothes ladies! There is a cause for them no matter the condition.
