Spring 2012 Fasion: The Peplum

The peplum is simply everywhere this season so, naturally, we thought we´d highlight a few outfit options here. The beauty of this style it is intrinsically feminine and exceptionally curve friendly.

A little rule of thumb when wearing the peplum (or in my case attempting to wear, believe me when I say there is a difference) is if you are an apple Shape then opt for drop waist peplum style which will help to even out your shape and create curves in the right places. If you are a pear or classic hour glass then opt for waist high peplum styles to accentuate your small waist

The key is to not be intimidated by this style – it is extremely flattering, regardless of size, provided you follow a few simply rules to flatter your own shape. A Peplum Dress is great for curvy ladies most especially when accompanied with a great pair of heels! One of my personal favourite outfits at the moment is the Black Peplum from Simply Be (pictured above) accompanied with the LOVE Colour Block Suede Sandal from Top Shop
